Ten protesters have arrested at Riverside Bridge along Outering road in Ruaraka Constituency for engaging in Sabasaba demonstrations.

The 10 were nabbed at the Riverside Bridge underpass by the anti-riot officers who were manning the area.

“Hii ni nchi yetu hatutakibali kuhandwa ovyo ovyo na makarau …hatutakubali Mimi ni mkenya Niko na uhuru kwa kuandamana Baba alishatangaza na tuko nje sisi,” an angry protester said.

Meanwhile they have asked the police not to use excessive force as they only participating on what is envisaged in the constitution.

“It is not wrong to participate in demos that should stick in their mind and therefore they should not provoke us into violence. Those arrested did not breach any law,” another protester said.

Chaos have been reported in several parts of the country where the saba saba marches are taking place.

Thika Road users were the first culprit in the morning after protesters blocked a section of the superhighway forcing vehicle to turn away.
