Former Sauti Sol member, Savara Mudigi has revealed that Elani died out after thinking that they can replace Sauti Sol from the top spot.
According to Savara, he produced a number of songs for Elani because he was hungry to do so after just learning the art of music production.
However, he noted that Elani lost it along the way due their manager who misled them in the hope that they can outsmart Sauti Sol and this was their biggest undoing.
“So I produced for them like so many songs…I think walikuwa na manager alikuwa anawadanganya they can replace Sauti Sol…Unajipimanisha na mamamba na hapo ndio walianza kujipimanisha, we can be better than Sauti Sol” asserted Savara partly.
Savara affirmed that Elani was poised for greatness since they had immense talent.
He continued that the group further sunk when the two female members, Wambui and Maureen got fame into their heads.
They believed that they were the best and no one could actually tell them anything.
“They were so f***ng fire…alafu wakamea pembe, walianza kujiona wanoma, hao madem walikuwa wanajjiona wadeadly” further added Savara.
The last nail on the coffin which sent the group to abbys was when they ventured in other jobs to supplement their earnings.
Watch Your Mouth
Following Savara’s sentiments on the death of Elani, Bryan Chweya who was the only male in the group has come out breathing fire after Savara.
According to Bryan, Savara begged them in order to record their music and it was low of him to tarnish their names.
He added further that Savara was trying to seek mileage through them since Bien is doing much better following Sauti Sol’s quietness.
“A simple midas touch…you begged to produce my niggaa…keep our name out of your clout chasing mouth…You recorded all our songs …Nigga shaaaaalap just because @bienaimesol is doing much better than you expected alone” fired Bryan.
Before sinking, Elani had hits like Kookoo, Milele and Jana Usiku among others.
