High flying Bongo flava rapper Young Lunya has accused his enemies for affirming that he is not a rapper.

He further added that the same people have never said anything good about him despite him achieving significant milestones like the recent feature on Hennessy Cypher Africa 2024.

Lunya further disclosed that such allegations don’t deny him sleep.

“Watu ambao wameposti kile kitu sana ni watu ambao hata hawajawahi kuposti kitu chochote kuhusu mimi kizuri na mimi nina vitu vizuri vingi nafanya sasa hivi hapa tunavyoongea nipo kwenye cypher ya Africa ya Hennessy nani ameiongelelea hicho kitu, nobody kwa hiyo siwezi kujali vitu vingine” he asserted partly.

On the Hennessy Cypher, Lunya is the one who holds the first verse. He revealed self recording himself and yearned to be the one kicking off the onslaught.

A while back, Young Lunya was cooked by netizens when he failed to freestyle during a live T.v session.

According to Lunya, his live T.v sessions are normally planned and mastered before the D-Day.

He also revealed that the lines used in such live sessions doesn’t feature anywhere in his other works.

On the fateful day, Lunya had rapped for about six minutes before being challenged to another session.

However, he noted that bowing out of the repeat session didn’t mean that he can’t rap.

“Nilikuwa nimetoka kurap dakika sita palepale on air kwa hiyo ilikuwa nashindwa vipi kurap dakika moja kama nimetoka kurap dakika sita bila kusimama kwa hiyo yes unaweza kujua mbuzi anashindwaje kuchana…Hapana kwa sababu mimi najua kurap vizuri” he explained.

Mbuzi Album

A fortnight ago, Young Lunya released his album dubbed “Mbuzi” which is also his nickname.

The album is an eleven track album, he had earlier set it at ten but made it eleven to make his fans fully understand him.

While noting his music’s intrusion in Kenya, Lunya disclosed that he’s yet to make great strides.

He further opined that the new generation of rappers is yet to make inroads like the previous generations which include the likes of Chidi Benz, A.Y, Professor Jay, Ngwair, Fid Q and Joh Makini.

However, he noted that his influence has been felt through the power of social media, Tik Tok and Instagram.

His recent Kenyan tour saw him being celebrated by some of his fans who attested to knowing him.
