The Kenya women’s under 17 team the Junior Starlets are embarking on a crucial journey as they head to Ethiopia for the World Cup Qualifiers.

The team is set to play Ethiopia in the World Cup Qualifiers, with the first leg scheduled in Ethiopia on May 10, 2024, and the return leg to be held at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi on May 19, 2024.

Head Coach Mildred Cheche expressed confidence in the team’s readiness, citing their experience competing at the highest level locally as a strong foundation for success.

The squad comprises talented players across all positions, including goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and forwards.

Notable names include Valerie Nekesa, Joy Angela Valencia, and others.

The winner of the tie on aggregate will progress to the fourth and final round, where they’ll face either Djibouti or Burundi.

The ultimate goal is securing automatic qualification to the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.

It’s a crucial moment for these young athletes, and their dedication and skill will be put to the test as they aim to secure their spot in the prestigious World Cup tournament.
