Head Coach Dennis Mwanja Has Named The Squad That Will Be Taking Part In The Dubai Tournament

The announcement was made yesterday. The inaugural WXV3 tournament will be taking place in Dubai from 13th to 28th October.

According to Mwanja, there will be thirty ladies participating in the tournament. There will be four new players. The four new players did not participate in the Rugby Women’s Africa Cup in May.

Eight of the players that took part in the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup have been left out for the trip to Dubai, including Sheila Chajira, who captained the side to second place behind winners South Africa.

Enid Ouma is the new team captain. She confessed about being a bit tensed. This is because it was her first time being a captain. On the contrary, Enid Ouma promised to pour her heart out to the game as she has always done.

A former player Bernadette Olesia sadly passed away in August after a short illness. The team promised to do their best in tribute of their late team member.

The members who will be participating  are: Enid Ouma (Captain), Rose Otieno, Knight Otwoma,  Natasha Emali ,  Faith Livoi,  Diana Kemunto, , Naomi Jelagat, Winnie Owino, Ann Goretti, Angel Charity Juma, Laureen Akoth, Freshia Awino, Priscah Nyerere , Naomi Amuguni ,Esther Juma, Diana Omoso, Naomi Muhanji, Evelyne Kalemera, Mercy Migongo, Stacy Atieno, Michele Akinyi, Edith Naliaka, Jiveti Daisy Osore, Lewin Amazimbi, Valentine Otieno, Maureen Chebet, Grace Okulu, Judith Okumu, Phoebe Ouma, Terry Ayiesa, Sharon Ouma.

The squad’s dedication and passion for the sport have already inspired fans across the country, and as they take on some of the world’s best teams, there’s no doubt that Kenya will be well represented with pride, honor, and fierce determination.
