As Law Society of Kenya elections gains momentum various candidates today presented their nomination papers ahead of the exercise which has been slated for February.

Nairobi City Lawyer Ashioya Biko presented his nomination  papers flanked by his supporters at the LSK headquarters.

According to Ashioya his top agenda includes devolving law society operations at county level as well as operationalize the same.

“I have presented my papers today  and  what we are waiting for the society to announce the  elections date.”Ashioya told the media.

“Top in my agenda list is to have an active LSK at all devolved units so that we can ensure that our members benefit and are protected in counties.I  will also work closely  with my colleagues to ensure we do bring to an end quack activities  in law profession,” Ashioya added.

JSC Male  Representative 

Out-going Law Society of Kenya  President Eric Theuri will now face off with Omwanza Ombati for the Judicial Service Commission Male representative post.

Current male  representative at JSC  Macharia Njeru told the media that he will not run for the second term.

Theuri on the hand  told  the media that the elections for all the seats including the JSC representative will be conducted together to make it cost effective .

“The law allows that if the date of the vote and the time the term is expiring are not separated by not more than three months then a vote can be done and the emerging winner wait for the balance of time to ascend to the office,” Theuri said.
