Matatu saccos in Nairobi have called the Nairobi County Government and the Kenya Revenue Authority to ensure the revenue payment system is seamless.

Yesterday sacco heads led by Wamasaa Sacco took hours in a long day meeting to sort the mess at revenue department after they paid and their matatus were impounded.
“It has been a long day to some of us because imagine paying for your vehicle then later it is impounded.They county government and the KRA should give us explanation and way forward so that we don’t incur further losses.” Wamassa Sacco Chairman Mr. Stephen said.
“Imekua shida na tunaomba serikali ya kaunti na KRA wakuje nanmbinu Bora ya malipo ambayo inaonyesha kwote kwa hizo platform juu sielewi mbona nashikiwa gari na nimelipa system lazima iwe integrated na iwe faster lakini sio hivi.” Dan one of the operator said.
Meanwhile through the intervention of the MCAs and Revenue Chief officer Wilson Gakuya some matatus were released specific conditionalities.
“We are working around this issue and we shall have an amicable solution.” Gakuya said after the meeting.
Transport Committee
Meanwhile Nairobi County Assembly Transport Committee Chairman Musango Maithya says the problem is with the system calling on the relevant officer to act promptly.
“We had a long deliberation with County Officials on this matter. The revenue officer should now take the matter serious and ensure the problem is resolved. Our people are suffering and we must be proactive in approaching search so that we don’t end frustrating our own people.” He said.
