Nelly’s Team Denies The Allegations

When Nelly’s team was sought for comment, they denied that he was arrested on drug possession charges.

According to Nelly’s lawyer, Scott Rosenblum his client was not arrested for drug possession but for insurance violation.

“He was arrested for ‘No Proof Of Insurance’ from 2018 on a warrant issued December 2023 that he received no notice. Mr. Haynes was targeted by an overzealous, out of line officer” he asserted partly.

He further added that the cop was present at the casino where Nelly he had won several jackpots. He continued that instead of the officer supervising the transfer of Nelly’s winnings, he sought to run a check for the warrants affirming that it was mandatory when a player won large amounts.

On the other hand, Nelly knew this was not true since it was not his first time winning several jackpots.

Going further, he noted that after Nelly was informed of the warrant for ‘No Proof Of Insurance’, the cop proceeded to handcuff him from behind parading him before other patrons at the casino.

While summing up, he also noted that the search conducted on his client leading to the drugs discovery wasn’t warranted adding that the case will go nowhere.
