Kenyan Musician Octopizzo has revealed that his new album ‘Kich ka Liech’ is meant to teach mixed race children about the roots.

According to the musician, he is documenting his life to his children through his album so as to help them remember their roots.

“I am documenting my life but in a musical way, just incase I forget everything including my name and I cannot tell my kids what my culture is. Octopizzo talks about his roots.

The musician went ahead and said that he wanted to talk about his culture that is the luo community in his album.

Octopizzo also added that the album talks about how the young people will one day come together and fight the elderly people.

“Before nikuwe Octo mimi ni nani. Where was I born? I was born in Siaya, that is who I am. If I die right now, the name that will be written ni my real name Onyango and not Octopizzo. Eight being my favourite numbe, I wanted my eighth album to represent my culture and what I stand for. Kich ka Liech…direct translation ni Nyuki zinaua Elephants.So kuna ii idea ukiuliza mtotot between nyuki na elephant gani inaua ingine watasema ni elephant, so hii ni mentality tunakuanga nayo ati kitu yeyote kubwa inafaa tuiogope. So ni kuchange hiyo mentality that small people wakicome Pamoja wanataweza toa the elephant in the room. Kama sahi tunaweza sema Gen -z ni kich na Liech ni Gava so watu wadogo wanapiga watu wakubwa,”
