The office of the DCI has been allowed to hold an ODM supporter for a period of seven days to allow police complete investigations relating to terrorism and incitement.

Shadrack Omondi was arrested in Kisumu on 10th of July 2023 after police established that he had posted on his tiko tok account a video that incited the public and also amounted to terror.

In the video Omondi said, “Baba enda Russia utulete bunduki.”

The DCI wants to investigate the veracity of the posted video by the Azimio la Umoja Coalition die-hard to be in a position to assist the investigators.

However in a quick rejoinder, the suspects lawyer Danstan Omari told the court that police have not demonstrated that if his client is released on a cash bail, he will interfere with the investigations.

“The information they want to investigate on him is digital evidence whose apparatus are domiciled at the office of the DCI,” lawyer Omari submitted.

He said that the police have resorted to harassing politicians allied to Azimio in view that tomorrow ( Wednesday) the supporters will stream to the streets to demonstrate against the government.

The matter would be mentioned on 17th July to confirm the position of investigations
