Incarcerated dancehall god Vybz Kartel has set his sights on becoming the Member of Parliament for St. Catherine South at the 2025 elections.
Despite his setback a few days ago where he was denied bail together with two of his three co-accused, Kartel is still hopeful of reuniting with the outside world.
Taking to his Instagram, the Clarks hitmaker shared his desire to join politics with his main focus the St. Catherine parliamentary seat.

He went further and affirmed his dominance with his portrait donning a suit.
“St. Catherine South, Vote for Adidja Palmer as your new Member of Parliament 2025…Gazanation weh u say ? You think mi coulda lose? he quipped.

2014 Murder Conviction
In 2014, Vybz Kartel and his co-accused Shawn Campbell also Known as Shawn Storm, Andre St. John and Kahira Jones were sentenced to life in prison for the 2011 murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams.
The appellants won an appeal arguing that one juror tried to bribe others to sway the verdict.
This saw the UK Privy Council remit the case back to the Jamaican Supreme Court.
The moment had seen Kartel and two of his co-accused file a Habeas Corpus application affirming that their continued detention was unconstitutional.
