Vybz Kartel has remained unshaken following the news of a fire gutting down case files belonging to his legal team.

Preliminary reports indicate that the law firms affected housed at least seven lawyers on Duke Street, these include Isat Buchanan and John Clarke.

Isat Buchanan is Kartel’s longest serving lawyer and leads his defense team which was able to argue his murder conviction before the UK Privy Council successfully.

On the other hand, John Clarke has been in charge of Kartel’s co-accused singer, Shawn Campbell popularly known as Shawn Storm.

According to reliable sources, the massive fire destroyed key documents including those linked to Kartel and some linked to alleged gangster, Tesha Miller.

Information from the Jamaica Fire Brigade indicated that the fire destroyed filing cabinets, furniture and other valuables.

It is estimated that the fire started on Monday around 2:07 AM with efforts to salvage anything turning futile.

Witch-Hunt

While reacting to the fire incident, Kartel noted that it was the work of his enemies in trying to halt his release efforts.

Taking to his X account formerly Twitter, Kartel beamed with confidence affirming that the burnt files couldn’t slow his case since they had a back-up in the clouds.

“Feds bwoy dem bun dung John Clark/Isat Buchanan office thinking they could destroy the files. It’s 2024, files are stored on cloud u f***in’ idiots” wrote Kartel.

Kartel’s legal team recently filed an application known as ‘Habeas Corpus’ which seeks to have Kartel and two of his co-accused Campbell and St. John set free.

However, Kahira Jones will remain behind bars while continuing with his 18 year sentence for the shooting of Chevallo Rodney in 2009.
