Is Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua feeling threatened by the early succession politics being carried out by some UDA MPs?

In Summary:

● DP Rigathi Gachagua warns a section of UDA MPs not to involve themselves in Mount Kenya region politics.

● Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi faults the DP for regional politics siting it as a form of tribalism.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has made a reputation for himself as a leader who wears his heart on his sleeve.

However, in the past few weeks, he disappeared from the public eye leaving Kenyans speculating as to why this might be happening.

Gachagua’s Warning!

Upon coming back, he seemed more ferocious than ever as he finally addressed fellow leaders in government who were allegedly battling him.

“There’s a few leaders who have proximity to the President ndio wanakoroga siasa huko kwetu. We joined the president’s cause on our own accord & willingness. We remain in support of the President, but we demand a little respect. Stay away from Mount Kenya Politics,” said DP Gachagua in a function in Rift Valley.

Rigathi Gachagua is no doubt one of the most influential leaders from the Mounth Kenya region.

However, he believes that some leaders from the Rift Valley region are working hard to disregard him in Central Kenya politics.

The Deputy President says he has no quarrels with his Boss but has reportedly also extended an invitation to retired President Uhuru Kenyatta to discuss matters unknown.

Naturally, this might not sit well with President Ruto who is yet to make his remarks on the squabble.

Rumour has it that Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro was being groomed to potentially dethrone DP Gachagua in the upcoming 2027 elections. Does Riggy G smell a rat?

Sudi Hits Back!

Kapseret MP Oscar sudi has since hit back at the Deputy President faulting him for regional politics. According to Sudi, this is just another form of nepotism.

“When campaigning for the Kenya Kwanza government we were a big team from all parts of Kenya. It took a countrywide tour for some of you to be recognisable,” said Sudi.

The Kapseret MP also made it clear to leaders that he was ready to work with any other leaderwho was like-minded.

Evidently, DP Rigathi Gachagua feels threatened by the conglomerate propping Kikuyu leaders to potentially replace him in government come 2027. Someone more controllable perhaps?

As he turns to retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, he opens the door for other possibilities. Will Uhuru accept the invitation? Let’s find out. Rudi Nyumbani.
