Dancehall heavyweight Bounty Killer will not be taking the stage at this year’s staging of Reggae Sumfest.
Killer disclosed his expected absence to fans via his social media on Tuesday night.
Announcing his withdrawal , the celebrated Jamaican artist shared a video of himself performing at a previous staging of the festival where he questioned the patrons on their preferred dance hall crew.
The ”Smoke The Herb” Hit maker wrote “Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control there won’t be no Bounty Killer tribute this year at Sumfest and I won’t be appearing either. Salute to all the fans, alliance, and allegiances. Thank you.

Tribute to Bounty Killer
Back in December festival organizers announced that this year’s staging of the event would feature a tribute to the Godfather of dancehall Rodney Bounty Killer Pryce .

The tribute was scheduled to be held on Night 1, Friday July 19.
The news of Bounty’s withdrawal has disappointed many of his local and overseas fans.
Some pointed out that they had been eagerly looking forward to flying into Montego Bay for his performance and the planned tribute.

Sumfest Artist Line Up
Sumfest, via social media shared the full lineup for Reggae Sumfest 2024 which is scheduled to take place in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the Festival will feature 8 events over 7 days, July 14-20, 2024
The week will feature performances by, Beenie Man, New Wave, Babyface, Beres Hammond, YG Marley ,Dexta Daps, Aidonia, Jada Kingdom amongst others.
