Citizen TV has allegedly cancelled the airing of “Shamba la Wanyama” Show after just one episode on Sunday, February 4th.

The show was supposed to air on Sunday, February 11th but it did not run despite being promoted by the station.

The Show allegedly faced criticism from religious leaders for being blasphemous as it was attacking the Church.

Clergy Unhappy

According to reports, the cancellation came after clergy members expressed their discontent with the show’s content, deeming it offensive to religious sentiments.

Serah Mwihaki, the scriptwriter for “Shamba la Wanyama,” confirmed that the show had indeed been barred from airing on Citizen TV. However, she reassured viewers that the show is still accessible on ViuSasa.

“I think it’s an important story. Some powerful people think it shouldn’t be told. I say follow the money, who’s likely to lose money if many people watch Shamba and question what’s happening,” Mwihaki said.

Script Writer defends Show

Kenyan’s took to social media platforms to express their disappointment and confusion.

“Shamba la Wanyama which was adapted towards the church.Get this,after citizen tv airing one episode last week on Sunday. the show has been pulled down.No explanation. It’s like we hit some nerves,” Shiviske Shivisi said on X.

Mwihaki while being interviewed on Citizen TV revealed that the show was drawn from personal experiences.

She recounted instances where her mother turned to religious leaders instead of seeking conventional medical assistance.
