Online taxi drivers and boda riders have given the online companies 48 hours to increase their service fees or they down their tools.

The boda riders who spoke to Ghetto Radio say that the online companies whose applications they are using to get clients have refused to increase increase the service fee despite the high cost of fuel.

“It is quite unfortunate that they are the ones determining what the customer pays regardless of the cost of fuel. That is why we are giving them 48 hours to increase the fares or we go on strike,” said Okoth.

According to Okoth some app users have even threatened to take matters into their own hands in a bid to cushion themselves from the high cost of living.

“Some have even threatened to ask clients for more money before they go on the trips that have been requested,” he said.
