Hundreds of people have showed up at the Nairobi City stadium for the Nairobi County Madaraka Day celebrations.
Nairobi County Governor Johnson Sakaja is expected to preside over the event alongside County Commissioner Flora Mworoa
As early as 5.00 am the city stadium was already buzzing as people trooped in to catch a glimpse of the events
This will be the 13th Madaraka Day celebrations since promulgation of the constitution 2010 that will see Kenyans converge to mark one of the most valued memories.
“The infrastructure has been refurbished and ready to host the celebrations,” said Sakaja.
“We also assure City dwellers is ready to host our valued visitors for the event.”
Among the colourful display the city residents will be treated to are meticulous police parade among other drills by the uniformed units.
