Controversial City Pastor and elder brother to the late socialite Starlet Wahu Mwangi, Pastor Victor Kanyari has come out to defend his sister’s lifestyle urging those quick to judge to refrain from blaming Wahu’s death on her choices.

Addressing his congregants at the Salvation Healing Ministry over his sister’s brutal murder at an apartment in south B by suspect John Matara, Pastor Kanyari criticized those who linked his sister’s lifestyle to the incident.

“Sister yangu alikuwa single, na hakuna kitu mbaya yeye kutafuta mume. Alimpata kwa socio media and they fell in love. Pale kulipatikana vitu za kupima ukimwi which means she did not trust the man,” Kanyari said.

He emphasized that Starlet Wahu was not born again, and therefore, her actions should not be judged harshly as she had not embraced salvation.

“Mimi sioni makosa ya sister yangu kukunywa pombe, sioni makosa yeye kuitwa date kwa sababu yeye namba one hajaokoka, mimi ndio nimeokoka …kama mimi ndio ningeshikwa basi ni kitu kingine…yeye ni mtu wa raha tangu zamani,”

He called Starlet’s death a significant blow to the family, especially for their mother, Prophetess Lucy Nduta.

Appeal to the Public

He also appealed to the public, particularly on social media, to refrain from harsh judgments against the deceased.

The Pastor revealed that he had advised the family to bury his sister quickly and with only close members in attendance so as to shield the grieving family from hurtful feedback from the public.

Wahu died on the 3rd of January when she was brutally killed in an apartment by John Matara, a man with whom she had booked a room.

Police allege that the socialite was stabbed in the head, and her thigh was cut in the tragic incident.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding Wahu’s murder is ongoing.
