Hip-hop artistes Wakadinali have emerged as the sole Kenyan representation in Spotify’s inaugural wrapped 2023 report securing the eighth position among the top streamed artists globally.
They have not only conquered international charts but also clinched the title of the most searched artists in Kenya on Spotify.

“The Kenyan music scene has grown exponentially since our last Wrapped, and it is refreshing to see a Kenyan artist in the top streamed list,”Phiona Okumu, Spotify SSA’s Head of Music said.

The top 10 most streamed artists in Kenya for 2023, according to Spotify, include global sensations Drake, Burna Boy, 21 Savage, Ayra Starr, Chris Brown, Travis Scott, Wakadinali, The Weekend, Metro Boomin, and Future.
Their album Ndani ya cockpit 3 took the 10th position in the global rankings for the most streamed albums on spotify.
Saturday Streaming Day
On a local scale, the top 10 most streamed artistes in Kenya are Sauti Sol, Bien, Bensoul, Nyashinski, Nviiri the Storyteller, Buruklyn Boyz, Otile Brown, Nikita Kering, and Lilmaina.
Particularly, Saturdays have emerged as the ultimate day for the streaming, leading the charts as the most popular day for music consumption.

4pm was highlighted as the prime streaming hour for music lovers.
