Kelvin Kiptum’s manager, Marc Corstjens has given a way forward on how the athlete’s wealth will be distributed .

Marc Corstjens, a Belgium based coach from the Company  flew into the country to console with the family.

The retired athlete  from the Golazo Company, has promised to take care of the departed marathoner’s family.

Setting Up A Foundation

The Golazo Company which was working with the late Chicago marathon and world record holder, Kelvin Kiptum, will set-up a foundation to take care of the athlete’s two children.

He also explained that all the earnings that were due to him would be paid to his family, saying it was a duty and respect from the Company to the late athlete. He insisted that they could not leave the family or let them down under such a circumstance.

“We are not just a Company that looks for talent and sports, but we also look beyond that, we look to the person behind it, to the family. We are thinking about establishing a foundation to support young children through basic education all the way to university in honour of the departed Kiptum and his coach Gervais Hakizimana. 

“About outstanding payments, don’t worry. Everything is there. It is noted down. And we will share it with the family. It is the duty and the respect that we have for the athlete and his coach. These are terrible circumstances and we can’t let them down,” he said.

Kiptum Made Millions

At the London Marathon, he pocketed more than Ksh 25 million, thanks to his win and breaking Eliud Kipchoge’s course record time.

The government also awarded Kelvin Kiptum Sh5 million for breaking the World Marathon record .The marathoner made more  millions  from other marathons He competed in.
