Construction efforts are underway to complete two houses for the family of the late marathoner Kelvin Kiptum before his burial on the 24th February.
One house will be for the late’s wife Asenath Rotich and the other for Kiptum’s father which will be adjacent to one another.

Why Grave will be built next to Kiptum Father’s House
The government sent experts to construct the homes in Naiberi farm, Uasin Gishu following Kiptum’s death through a tragic road accident which also claimed his Coach Gervais Hakizimana.
In the meantime Kiptum’s father Samson Cheruiyot now wants his son’s grave to be next to his house as he was the only child.
The construction company leading the efforts, Vaghjiyani Enterprises Limited mobilized approximately 50 workers to ensure the houses are completed in record time.
Their goal is to finish the structures within a record time of six days.

Burial Plans for Coach
Meanwhile the body of Coach Gervais Hakizimana was flown to Kigali, Rwanda, on Saturday for burial arrangements even as the family is dissatisfied with the autopsy report following Hakizimana’s death.
“He died of intracranial bleeding due to head injury which is consistent with head injuries. The neck and head had fractures, which are consistent with the accident report,” Government pathologist Benson Macharia said.
“When we viewed him, he did not have fractures at all. We therefore reject this report,” Sandrine Hakizimana, The coach’s niece said.
“We want investigations commenced as we are not satisfied with the post-mortem report,”
