American Idol has ignited the star of Kenya’s most hidden gems abroad, Nyachomba Muchai Kinya popularly known as Nya who received a standing ovation with her striking performance barely a week ago.
Nya was born in Kenya but grew up in Florida, she currently resides in New York.
The 27 year old performed “Wait A Minute” by Willow Smith which blew the judges away. Her personality also stood out with the judges loving every bit of her interactions.
Nya revealed that she’s a Broadway singer and performer. She’s also into acting and has featured on several Broadway plays.

As Nya started to sing, her sweet voice, the way she was hitting the notes so effortlessly and her loving aura made her a darling of the judges.
The panel had RnB superstar, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan who were all smitten.
Bryan affirmed that Nya’s performance was the best so far in the already submitted auditions.
“Maybe my favorite audition or performance this year, thus far” said Bryan amid excitement.
He further added that Nya didn’t sound like a Broadway singer but rather a world stage entertainer.
“The most impressive thing is that you don’t sound Broadway…You are actually a massive singer” he summed up partly.

Nya’s performance on American Idol is continuing to rake in good reviews from social media platforms.
