A middle age woman was on Monday charged with defrauding over ksh 6 million from a foundation run by Kenya Post Primary Education Teacher’s Organization (KUPPET) Secretary General Maurice Akello Misori.

According to the prosecution document, Eunice Nduku Musembi between the date of 1st July 2023 and 23rd September 2023 together with others yet to apprehended conspired to defraud the Maurice Akello Misori a sum of ksh 6.2 million.

In another count of offense, the accused person is facing a charge of obtaining a sum of Ksh 3.8 million by falsely pretending that she was in a position to secure a donor funding to Misori Japuonj Foundation he fact she knew to be false.

Nduku however denied all counts of charges before trail magistrate Gilbert Shikwe and was admitted to a personal bond pending pretial.

Duped In Gold Transaction

In the same come,there persons were charged for  allegedly wrapping a wooden material in a back envelope and handing over to a trader as genuine gold.

The trio,Kelvin Mwachi Mahila,Morgan Asengi Mahila and Mohamed Hassan Mohamed are said to have committed the alleged offence in Nairobi County between 29th April and 5th May 2023.

According to the victim’s lawyer Samson Nyaberi, the second and third accused person was arrested in Busia border therefore are at flight risk.

The court directed the accused be detain at Mathaiga police station pending ruling on their bail application by the duty court
